Procedure (45-60 minutes)
T will ask Ss: What kind of drinks do you know? and elicit: Soft drinks and Alcoholic drinks. T writes on the whiteboard Soft Drinks that Ss say and Alcoholic Drinks T will also elicit:tap water, mineral water. T asks the class:What is your favorite drink?
T will ask: do you drink water? yes. When you want to know if your friend drinks one cup or two cups, how do you ask? ( How many/ how much) T explains: can you count water. Ss will revise countable and uncountable nouns. T will show realia to set context. I drink water. 1. T shows an empty glass. Elicits and drills. ( I don't drink any water) 2. T shows half of the glass filled with water.( I don't drink much water) 3. T shows 3 battles of water filled. (I drink a lot of water) 4. I drink quite a lot of water T writes the sentences on the board and explains the rules eliciting After clarifying grammar T can give some sentences to fill gaps.
T focuses on the introduction to the questionnaire. T asks Ss :how much water do you drink? Why should we drink water? T gives instructions:now interview your partners. Give 2-3 min. Feedback in open pairs. until each Ss has gotten practice Ask SS to interview you. Find out how many Ss think they need to drink more water.
T chooses one Ss and asks:Do you like tea or coffee? (coffee) Demo with Ss Do you like it sweet? Do you put sugar? How much sugar do you have in your sugar? a lot; quite a lot; not much or not many; non T gives instructions: you can stand up and interview you friends and tick the answers. T monitors and writes down Ss mistakes. Ss are involved in pair work
