Procedure (32-47 minutes)
T will quickly draw a story about being late to work on the board.
T will elicit the target language. T will ask SS to give an example of the third conditional. T: Work in pairs. Think and give an example of the third conditional.
Focus on meaning. CCQs: Did smth happen in the past? Can we change it? imaginary situation (which didn't happen) in the past. Focus on pron. 'Work in pairs. Pick up an example. Tell one another. Pay attention to pronunciation.' + past perfect contract forms, + would have past participle - past perfect, - wouldn't have + past participle T will drill some examples highlighting pron. Focus on stress. Remind SS: the stressed words in the sentences are information words negative auxiliaries are always stressed would, have been and the contracted form of had(‘d) have a weak pronunciation. T will drill some examples highlighting sentence stress. Ex3a. Quick practice. T: Ill give you HOs. Quickly have a look at them. Listen and repeat. Copy the rhythm. T will distribute HO1.
