Procedure (25-40 minutes)
T opens up the lesson with a mime and asks the students what the mime is all about.
T elicits several vocabulary from SS through mime and writes the words on the white board.
T demo to SS a listening for gist activity to focus their attention on the target language and then ask them to complete a matching activity while listening to the conversations on audio. Afterwards T instructs SS to compare their work results with each other. And an answer key is provided to confirm their right answers.
T asks SS what name the mobile phone is called in their own country. And then another country from the list that will be provided. Afterwards, T instructs SS to work in closed pairs to match the names of mobile phones and the country they are used. When they are done, the teacher makes them to move around to see what other pairs have matched. Finally they will be told to retrieve copies of the answer key where they are posted. Then teacher demos by asking a SS questions from a mobile phone questionnaire. Then T divides SS in groups for this interview activity to go on and monitors them. T then makes makes student to change their groups and the questionnaire and continue with the same activity. Meanwhile, music will be playing in the background to keep up their mood. Finally T gets feedback from SS randomly to see what they learnt from their group members.
T will show a short video to give an idea of what they are about to read in the text. T will handout a reading question sheet to SS and ask them to work in pairs and read the questions and try to guess the correct answers (True/False). Afterwards, T gives them the reading text and they go over it to check if their answers were right. T confirms their answer with copies of the answer key.
