Procedure (41-47 minutes)
Ask students to raise their hand if they agree with this statement: Istanbul is the best city in the world to live in. For those that agree, ask why? For those that disagree, ask them to share their opinion on what city is the best in the world to live in. Ask students what is great about living in Istanbul? What's not so great?
T shows the pictures of some words to prepare students and write them on the board to elicit the meaning.
Ss imagine that they are going to live in Montreal.They read the web page and choose which area you would prefer to live in.They will work in pairs and compare their answers.
In exericse 2 ,Ss will read the web page again and decide , which part of Montreal do the sentences refer to : Verdun ( V ) , Outremont ( 0 ) , Old Montreal ( 0M ).They will do it by theirselves and check in pairs.At last T projects the answer key onto the board.
Ss will learn some quantifiers but not in the consept of grammar, instead of this they will learn the meaning of them in the context of text called "Living in Montreal " T projects the words on the board and tell the Ss , please try to find these words and guess their meaning , then WC feedback to clarify the meaning.
Speaking exercise 1 , T gives a column to the students.It includes two parts.Ss will complete column A first.This is about their home town.After they finish , they work in pairs and ask their's partners town , then they write the answers in column B.Finally they compare their answers.They think about these two questions : ıf you describe the same town as your partner , did you have same answers ? If you describe a different town , which town is the better place to live.
