I just come to the class and say hello to my students and ask some questions such as "How are you today?", " Are you fine?" to give them a positive feeling to start the class.
I ask the learners to match some pictures with the sentences (regular simple past) on the board.
I elicit that all the verbs are in past and they take ed at the end.
When the pictures are matched with the sentences on the board and the feedback is done, I ask some CCQs to clarify the meaning. For instance, 'did he start in the past or present?'. Then I analyze the form that these verbs take ed. Then I drill their pronunciation and how we pronounce them. Learners are aske to answer three short questions to make sure they have understood the meaning and form.
Students are given some verbs and they are asked to write them in simple past tense in pairs. Then they come to the board and write the answers on the board. Then they check whether theri answers are correct or not.
Five jumbled sentences are on the wall and students stand up, read them and unjumble them. Then check with a partner and the answer key is given to them.
A time line is drawn on the board and then I tell the learners about my self and what I did from 2010 to 2016 and I model three sentences about myself. Then I ask them to write 3 sentences about themselves and then they check each others' sentences. They correct their partners' sentences and then they read their sentences for new partners. One or two students read their sentences to the class and finally delayed error correction is done on the board.
