Description

In this lesson ss will practise listening and speaking with the use of discriptive adjectives in the context of tje position in the family.

Materials

Main Aims

  • By the end of the lesson Ss will have practised their listening and identify adjectives in the context of position in the faily and using adjectives in speaking.

Subsidiary Aims

  • To practise/revise "wh" questions

Procedure

Wormer/Lead-in (5-6 minutes) • Listening and speaking

T introduces the topic and elicites informaition about their family positions. Get a show of hands for each position. Give instructions about listening and play the tape.

Pre-Listening (8-10 minutes) • Focus on instructions and point out that they should listen for adjectives

Give clear instructions, explain that they will listen to the listening twice. Ask them to say if the information is true for them or not. Put students in groups and ask them to interview eachother.

Post-Listening (5-5 minutes) • check answers and ask ss for examples

After hearing the conversation second time tell them to focus on filling the chart . And put correct adjectives in each column.

Speaking practise (6-8 minutes) • Involve SS in conversation

Ask students to compare their answers with a partner and check their answers.
