Procedure (35-45 minutes)
A picture of a lady coming back from shopping will be shown to them and they will be asked to talk about a couple of questions in pairs. Then 2 students are chosen to share their answers with the class..
Students are asked to see some pictures on the table and match them with the words on the board which are related to shops. Then their answers are checked and CCQs are asked to clarify the meaning and the pronunciation of each vocabulary item will be checked. Then learners are asked to match some words related to a shopping list with the pictures on the board. Then the meaning of the words will be clarified by CCQs and their pronunciation will be drilled.
Learners are given a list of shopping and they are asked to work in pairs and decide where they can buy the items that they need. Then they check their answers with a new partner. After that the teacher gets feedback by asking some students to talk. The say 'You can buy.... at/in ..... That is the sentence which is given to them by the teacher at the time of pair check. Then, students fill in the gaps with the words related to shops and after checking their answers the answer key will be put on the board.
Students will be told that they listen to two conversations and decide which shops Martina and Alex are in. Whole class feedback shows the answer by the students. Then the listen to the audio track again and fill in the gaps. They check their answers with their pairs and students come to the board and write the words in the correct culumn.
One of the listening texts is given to each student, then they are asked to fill in the gaps and then read the conversation for other pairs. The other pair needed to listen to the new conversation and decide where these people are.
