Procedure (46-62 minutes)
I will show them a picture of İstanbul and ask them , "where is it ? " , "Is it beatiful ?"
I will give them picture cards and ask them to write what they are and they stick them on WB.After they finish , I will make WC feedback for exercise 4a.Say them , let's check together.Is it a room ? Yes or no ?.I will drill the vocabulary and make them repeat after me individually and chorally.Then we will talk about the picture.What can you see in the picture ?
ın exercise 4c firstly I will tell that this is an e-mail.Alice and Mike wrote their friends an e-mail.Then I will write word "e-mail " on the board then show them the stress is on the first syllable. I will read the text loudly and I will try to make it clear for the students.While I am reading , I will show some pictures of the word on the board.
After I finish reading , I will write question on the board , "where are Alice and Mike ? " Also I will write the sentences " people are very friendly ".Highlight people are always plural. In exercise 5 , I will give them paper on which the sentences written and I will tell them read the sentence , ıf it is correct then tick , ıf not , please put write correct adjective.Then change the papers and check them.I will pick up the cards and WC feedback.
I will write the example sentences on the board. we ________ in Sınav College now. you ________in the class now. They _______ in İstanbul ( by showing Alice and Mike ) I will try to elicit the answers then I will show contraction.Then we will start exercise 6. I will write the sentences on the board and ask them to come and fill in the blanks.After they finish we will repeat the sentences chorally.
exercise in 8a&b I will show them contraction e.g. he is / he's.I will write some examples on the board.Then I will them to read the sentences.I will play record and pause after each sentence to allow the students write.They listen and fill in the gaps.I will play again if necessary.They compare the anwsers in pairs.After they finish I invite them to board to write the sentences for WC feedback. Exercise in 10 they will focus on the Picture.I will ask who they are and where they are.They do the exercise on their own.Then compare the answers in pair.I will check the answers with class.
