In this lesson students will revise the number 0-12 briefly.They will learn the rest of the numbers (13-100 ) how to write and spell.They will also practice new vocabulary and ask "how old _______? "They will work in pairs and make picture description

Main Aims

  • To introduce and practice the numbers from 13 to 100

Subsidiary Aims

  • to make a speaking & listening activity about age and pictures

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

I will give them set of number cards from 0-12 .They write the numbers under the pictures.After they finish , they say the numbers loudly.

Pre-Reading/Listening (5-8 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

I will stick numbers from 13 to 20 onto the board and ask them , " Do you know the numbers ? " and elicit the answers , they are going to try write the numbers on the board.I will make correction if necessary.

While-Reading/Listening #1 (10-15 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading/listening tasks

I will show the numbers on the board.They listen exercise 1 and repeat the numbers. I will give the number cards , they will write the words to the numbers in exercise 2 .They work in pairs.Check answers with the class.They stick the numbers on the board.They listen the recording in exercise 3 and notice the stress the -teen syllable in numbers 13-19 and the first syllable in numbers 20-100

Post-Reading/Listening (8-15 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned

for exercise 5a , I will write the number on the board and ask Ss to come and write the words to the numbers. for 5b , they work in pairs.They say numbers each others.I will check pronounciation by going round the class. for 6a , each students writes four numbers.They will say their numbers and write their partner's numbers.Are they correct ? Competition : I will give them a set of cards.They will wirte the numbers under the pictures and stick the cards on the board.Who finishes first becomes winner.

Pre-Reading / Listening (5-10 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible.

for exercise 7a , I will show the picture cards first and ask for each card "What is it ? " Then I will stick it onto the board.Also I will stick words cards.They come to board and match the words with pictures by drawing line with the boardmarker.

While -Reading / Listening (3-5 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging information reading / listening tasks.

for exercise 7b , I will write the sentences on the board.They will fill in the blanks while listening.I will play again if necessary.All class feedback.

Pre Reading / Listening (3-5 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

for exercise 8a , I write the sentences on the papers and give them to the students,They fill in the blanks and stick on the board. exercise in 8b , Then they will listen and check.We will read the sentences again loudly for pronounciation.

Post Reading / Listening (10-15 minutes) • To provide with an oppurtinity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned.

exercise in 9 , They will look at the pictures and ask questions each other , "how old......? " They work in pairs.I will give simple instructions for this task and I watch them without involved. exercise in 10 , I will put them in pair.They focus on the picture and numbers.They will try to predict their age.They make sentences like " I think Amybeth is 22.".I give a clear instructions.One of you show the picture and tell his / her idea about the age.
