Procedure (41-53 minutes)
Checking homework (5-5 minutes) • To solidify gained knowledge at the previous lesson and make a link to the new lesson
Check answers one by one starting from the right.
Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students
Show prepared pictures and elicit the topic of the lesson What do you think it means?
Pre-Reading/Listening (7-10 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible
Highlight the vital vocabulary: Arachnofobia, Arithmofobia, despair, gloom, doom Repeat 5 times, give plural forms.
While-Reading/Listening #1 (7-10 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading/listening tasks
Eliminate wrong headlines.
While-Reading/Listening #2 (9-13 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference reading/listening tasks
