Procedure (34-46 minutes)
I will ask ss to look at the picture (Alice in Wonderland),asking some CCQs to elicit the word "legendary places": Where is Wonderland? Is it in Turkey? Is it in America? Is it a real place? Is it an imaginary place? Is it here in your imagination? What do we call this place? I will ask ss to have a look at three legendary places Then, I will show them pictures about these legendary places and ask them the following questions: 1-What does this dragon mean? (evil or good) 2-What is it?( a map) what do we use a map for? 3-What is this? (gold) what does it mean when a person have gold? Do people always look for gold? Then I will ask ss to match the legendary places with the pictures.( in pairs) I will monitor to check if ss are on the right track or not and to provide any help if necessary. I will check answers with ss.
I will divide the class into groups I will ask ss to match the words with their meaning and monitor to check if ss are on the right track or not and to provide any help if necessary. Jigsaw reading. to integerate reading with speaking. I will divide the class into three groups (A,B,C). I will give each group a different reading passage and ask each group to read the passage and answer these three questions individually. 1-Where is this place? 2-Where does the legend come from? 3-What does the legend mean today? I will ask ss to check answers with their groups. I will monitor and check each group has got the right answers.(I will give each group an answer key) . I will regroup the ss into 3s (each with 1xA, 1xB, 1xC). Then, I will ask ss to tell each other about the text they read (they can take notes). Reading for specific information To get more details about thereading passages. Ss will work in groups and answer the questions beginning with which palce................? I will give ss a table with the three legendary places. I will ask them to read the list on the left. Then, ask them to read again and check the place that matches the information in each point. Ss will read again.I will mointor. Ss will check answers in groups. I will check the answers with ss.

Using the notes taken by the ss, they will speak about which legend comes to their favour. I will give them some time to rearrange their ideas then in pairs talk. Ss will change roles.
I will show ss a picture of a man giving a woman a red rose. I will ask them what does it mean when a man gives a woman a red rose? It means................... What does a rose represent? It represents........................... I will get a pair to provide a good model . I will ask ss to ask and answer questions about "The colour green / the number 13 / a snake) One will ask the other will answer. Then ss change roles.
