Procedure (34-58 minutes)
I will put up a picture of a doctor on the board and ask students the following questions. Is she sympathetic? How does she look? Are doctors usually sympathetic? Do you guys trust your doctors?
I will show them words and give them sentences to help find the definition of the words. Ask them CCQs to ensure that they have understood the meaning of the words.
First i will give them the questions that they will answer and have them read the questions to themselves. Then I will play an audio of an interview with a doctor. Ss will listen to it the whole way to get the gist. After, I will play it again but this time pause frequently in between to give them time to answer the questions. Then i will have them check their answers with a partner. Meanwhile i will have put the cut-up answers and scrabble them on the board. And have the pairs answer the question on the board.
I will put the students in groups of 3-4 depending on the size of class. Then have each student pick one question that I have cut up and prepared. Each group will discuss and answer their own question. I will have one group talk about their answers, then switch the questions around. Give them 2-3 minutes to talk about it with group, and then share their answer with whole class.
Put students in groups and play the song Just like a Pill. Have them listen to certain words and find the words in the song which match to the definitions i will give them.
