T will ask Ss questions about the listening text they had in the previous lesson to reset the context. T will also ask students to talk in pairs to recall some ideas about the Capitals of Cultures.
T will ask Ss to listen to the same audio they did in the previous lesson. Ss will be required to write as many questions as the interviewer asks. Then Ss will check their questions in groups. This is followed by a controlled exercise where students try to unscramble the sentences individually. Finally, there will be a whiteboard analysis of the sentences as a WC activity.
In this stage, Ss will do ex2 to match the rules to the questions from ex1.
In this stage, Ss will be doing controlled practice on writing questions for the interview about Amman, Jordon. They will do it in pairs and check their answers with T.
T will put some pictures and and some words on the wall. After checking the pronunciations with Ss, T will put Ss in group and ask them to match the words to the pictures. Sitting in their own groups, Ss will match green cut-ups to orange ones to make common phrases from the interview. Then Ss will listen to the audio to find out the stressed syllables and finally check their answers.
Ss will be put in groups and asked to nominate a city that they know well as a Capital of Culture. They are expected to describe the city, talk about the history and architecture of the city, and come up with reasons why they have chosen this city.
