Procedure (23-40 minutes)
the T will show some pictures about some capital cities like LONDON, PARIS, ROME and ANKARA in order to elicit CAPITAL.ThenThe T will ask some general questions about life in capital city.For example,where were you born?Do you live there now?Do you like living here?would you like to live in the Ankara?
in this stage, which the vocabulary activity is based on (ex1 pg104),the T will use ECDW in order to teach vocabulary such as friendly, expensive ,dangerous, interesting, noisy, historical and polluted.the stress mark and CCQs is done for each vocabulary.
the Ss will be given cut ups to mach the words in the activity (ex 3 pg104) which are the antonym with vocabulary that they learned in second stage.For example, (Safe-dangerous),(boring-interesting),(quiet-noisy),(clean-polluted), (friendly-unfriendly),(cheap-expensive),(modern-historical) and (beautiful-ugly ).as a feedback,the Ss will check other pairs answer.the T will elicit vocabulary if it is needed.
The Ss will listen to a conversation about life in ROME (ex2 pg104) and they will complete a questionnaire about folowing Seven questions about:Rome: 1-Are people friendly? 2-Is it an expensive place? 3-Is it dangerous to walk on the streets at night? 4-Can you visit interesting things in your city? 5-Is it very noisy? 6-Are there any beautiful or historical buildings? 7-Is the air polluted ? Then,the Ss will check their answers together in pairs. at the end ,the T will play again the audio file and as a feedback,the T will elicit Ss answers .
The Ss will be given the same questionnaire to talk about their favourite city (ex5 pg104).the students will choose a city that they know well and they will interview their partner.
