Description

In this lesson Students will learn present perfect tense. Lesson starts with the discussion to set the context and create some model sentences. Later on, teacher will clarify meaning, form and pronunciation. It is followed by a controlled practice at the end.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (2-3 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

T greets Ss. T introduces the topic and asks Ss to discuss the topic. T monitors. T asks WCFB.

Exposure (3-5 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

T introduces the topic of listening and writes a question on the WB. T gives instruction and asks ICQs. Ss listen to the recording. T asks to peer check. T asks WCFB.

Highlighting (2-4 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language

T elicits some sentences from the audio and writes them on the WB. - Michelle has met Brat Pitt and Jenifer Aniston. - I have served them in the restaurant. - Have you ever met anyone famous?

Clarification (6-8 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

T clarifies the meaning, form and pronunciation by asking CCQs.

Controlled Practice (4-6 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

T gives Ss the HO. T gives instruction and asks ICQs. Ss do the task. T monitors. T asks to peer check. T asks Ss to answer the questions
