Procedure (27-35 minutes)
T Draws a diagram on the board. Tell Ss to copy the diagram .Write one of your women friends and one of your men friends next to appropriate circle and point one and say "This is Elif. I go dancing with Elif. Point to another " this is Ozan. I play tennis with Ozan." Tell Ss to write the names of two friends. Put them in pairs. Tell them to talk about their friends to their partners as in the example. Monitor and help if needed. Take FB.
Show Ss the flashcard to elicit and practice the key words. ( go dancing, watch TV etc.) Hold up flashcards to elicit and drill the Vocabulary. Ask "what do you see in the picture?" and "what is the activity?" elicit "go to the cinema , watch tv etc.." Drill the vocabulary individually. and chorally. Put the pictures on boards with a number on them. Put Ss in groups .Tell Ss to put the written cards in order according to the pictures. Tell them to move around and check the other group`s answers. Monitor and help if needed. take FB. Give a written record to students.
Elicit the word "alone". Show one of the pictures you previously used. does she listen to music with a friend ?No. Does she listen to music by herself? Yes Is she alone? Yes. Introduce the task ( exercise 2) model the task yourself and ask ss to do the exercise in pairs. give them a time limit 3min. Then get peer FB Tell them to read the introduction and ask them what the listening is about. Ss listen to the interview and tick the words they hear. w/c FB.
Elicit the meaning of "personal things" and "feelings". Give Ss Ex.3 handout. Tell them to read the statements. Introduce the task. Ss listen the interview again. they decide If the sentences are about men ,women or both. Ss peer-check then w/c FB
