To provide inference listening practice using a text about Free time activities in the context of asking yes/no questions and anwering
Procedure (37-50 minutes)
Te;; them to stand up and go to one side of the room for yes and the other for no, then once they've moved to the side, ask one side 'do you go out on Sundays / do you eat out on vacations/... to elicit 'yes, we do/no, we don't ' then ask them about the other side, " do they ....?' etc
- ask the ss to sit down with for different tables to make new groups.I will hand them the Hand Outs. - In pairs they do the HO with the grammar box from ex. 7 + I will monitor their work, then complete the table on the board to let every body know The correct anwer.
Teacher gives the ss the second HO and ask The ss to do it in pairs this time. Teacher will monitor them without interfering, till the end, then ask for the first and highlight the right answer.
first the teacher pronounce the sentence alone twice, then drill with ss in a controlled way, then semi controlled, then practicing "Do they watch TV a lot?"
TEacher will explain to the ss how this HO need to be done that we should put the expressions in the right circle of the prepositon. Teacher will ask the ss to make new pairs and work together on the HO, we will check the right answer Then the ss test each other
before giveng the ss the HO, I will explain to them how are they supposed to do this excercise. in three groups of A B C. do the first and second parts of this EXc third part needs to be dealt with alone. Each student should go and ask his colleagues if thy
if time left , do a whole class feedback - what did they find out about their group?
