To provide clarification of 'used to' for past habits in the context of cars.

To provide speaking practice for accuracy in a conversation in the context of past habits.
Procedure (38-47 minutes)
- Show students old Istanbul picture. -Ask them to guess what the life is like in old days - Show students a new Istanbul picture - Elicit the meaning
- Ask students to look at the text again. - Ask them which tense or tenses the text has mostly. -Tell students to find all 'used to' structures in the text and underline them in a minute. - After students underline the structures, write the sentence
-Ask students these questions to check the meaning. * Are they driving out of town now? (no) * Did they drive out of town in the past? ( yes) * Is it one single action or repeated action in the past? (repeated) - Ask students these questions to check the form. * What do we use for things that happened in the past but not true in the present? (used to) * What comes after 'used to' ? - Drill 'used to' individually and chorally. -Ask students to work in pairs and give the instructions for activity 1 to check the meaning again. - Ask students to guess the negative form of 'used to' -Ask students to guess the question form of 'used to' - Clarify the negative and question forms of the 'used to'
- Ask students work in pairs and look at the sentences in the exercise 2. - Tell them replace the past simple with 'used to/ didn't use to' where it is possible - Give feedback
- Ask students to work in the groups of 3 - Tell them to think of their life and compare their life now with their life ten years ago. - Set the time limit -Monitor the students
