Give the HO and ask them to look at the picture. Ask the Ss to work in pairs and read the sentences below the picture for 1 minute the ask them how they would describe a person like this and whether they know anyone like this. Elicit "tycoon". )Very successful and rich businessman) Concept check: Do tycoons have a lot of money? Drill, write.
Elicit a sentence with causative structure e.g "Demet Akalın gets her hair done every morning". Concept check: Does she do it herself? Does someone do it for her?" Drill the sentence changing the verb. "...gets her car washed, gets her nails done, gets her meal cooked..." Write one of the sentences on the board and highlight the form. This is the presentation stage Have /get sth + past participle.
Elicit another sentence. Mime that your nails are in a bad shape. "I have a lot of money and time, do I have to do it myself? No. I "get my manicure done. " Also highlight that they can also use "have+sth+past participle" My hair is very long and I need it to be shorter. Do I cut it myself? No I have my hair cut. Drill-Write. Ask them how often they have their hair cut.
Ex. 2. Ask them to change the sentences so they have the same meaning. Demonstrate: Someone does my manicure. I have my manicure done. They will do the exercises in pairs (4 min) Check with their partner. Have 2 students write 2 answers on the board. Answer keys are under their chairs!
Ask students to get up and discuss in pairs. Which of the things they read in the controlled practice and what other things they would like to have done for them. Ask them why these things would make them happy.
