Procedure

Warm-up (7-15 minutes) • To engage the students

The teacher will introduce herself and check the students' names. Then she will prime the students for learning numbers. To do this end, she will ask some questions about the number of absentees and students with different nationalities. Next, she will write the numbers on the board and will have students practice the correct pronunciation. Then, students should do ex.1 in pairs. After that, small pieces of papers having numbers written on will be distributed among students by her. One student reads the number on his/her paper and the other student recites the preceding and following numbers.

Pre-listening (6-15 minutes) • To prepare students for the listening part

Teacher uses the pictures of the number plates and explains what they are and works on the right pronunciation of countries.

Gist-listening (10-12 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist listening

students will listen to the audio track and answer the questions, such as where are they, How many people are there, etc.

Speaking listening (8-10 minutes) • To ecourage students to use the language in the authentic situation

At this stage, the teacher divides students into groups of four or pairs. Using some hints written on the board, students in group will start speaking about their own situation in terms of their cars, nationality, etc. It is noteworthy that the teacher supports them by giving them feedback of their areas of difficulty.
