To provide clarification,review and practice of the comparisons in the context of cities.
Subsidiary Aims

To provide ss speaking about the differences of the pictures by using comparisons.
Procedure (42-59 minutes)
I will show London and San Francisco's pictures and ask ss what are the differences between the two cities. I will ask them some extra questions. -How is the life there? -Which city do you want to visit or live? Why? -Which is more cheaper?
I will give a h/o. Ss will read a text which is about London and San Francisco. They will check their ideas and discuss about the differences between the cities.
The ss will underline the comparatives and superlatives. I will ask some questions to see what ss know about the comparisons. -When do we use -er? -When do we use -est? -Which adjectives are irregular? I will write forms of the comparisons on w/b and drill.
I will give ss a h/o. They will fill in the blanks with comparatives and superlatives,then they will complete the chart which consists of the irregular adjectives. I will stick the answers on the wall. The ss will revised the MFP. Peer-check.
I will elicit as...as. The ss will find some information about the restaurants in London and San Francisco from the text. I will draw similar pictures and want ss to make sentences. I will check MFP and positive and negative sentences of as..as.
I will give some cut out papers. There will be a word on each cut-out paper. One studentt from each group will take a cut out papers and put them in order. Who finishes first, they will come and take second cut out paper and put them in order again. Which group finishes first, they will be winner. W/c check.
Speaking activity and pair work. One student will be a tourist and other student will be a guide. The guide tell the tourist differences between to cities.(ex:İstanbul-Ankara) Then they will change the roles and talk about again the cities. I will listen and take notes the mistakes I heard. I will write the mistakes on w/b and do error correction.
