Subsidiary Aims

Procedure (40-52 minutes)
I will enter the classroom with a magic ball and I will tell them that I can see the future. I will introduce myself as a fortuneteller. I will choose one of the students and ask her/him to touch the magic ball. Then I will tell something about the future of the student such as "You will win science high school. You will be an engineer and you will be very rich. You will marry a beautiful/handsome person."
I will show some pictures and I will elicit the future meaning through some clues. For example, I will show the picture of a hungry boy, then I will show a sandwich, and I will elicit what the boy will do. I will do the same for every picture and every situation in these pictures.
I will write down " year 2050" on the board and ask the students what they will do, where they will be. I will write down the sentences the stundets say and highlight meaning form and pronunciation.
I will divide the students into groups and give scrambled sentences each group. They will order the sentences one by one. Then I will show the ordered sentences at the end of the activity and provide whole -class feedback.
I will give students tarot cards. These cards will involve some future events. One of the students will draw a card without looking at it, and the other one will tell her/him what will hapen in the future of the student. Next time the other student will draw a card and learn what will happen in her/his future. This will be repeated several times.
I will write down some time adverbs such as two hours later, two days later, two months later and two years later. Then I will ask them what will they do or what they won't do ? They will work in groups and ask eachother and share their ideas.
