Procedure (30-44 minutes)
Write Email on the board and create a mind map. Ask students to come to the board and write words or thoughts they associate with email.
Ask the students about the book cover. Ask for the meaning of the title. Let students guess about the content of the article.
Ask the students to answer the questions of exercise 2 in pairs. Ask students CCQ's to check understanding. Then discuss the answers briefly in class.
Ask students about the picture: Where do you think are they working? What kind of job do they have? Write company on board and ask for another word for it.
Ask the difference between Intranet and Internet. Tell the students to read the questions and ask them to answer these questions after having played the recording to them in pairs.
Give the students the script of the listening task and let them check briefly.
Ask students to read the sentences from exercise 4 and let them decide which are against and which are for the ban. Work in pairs.
Check the answers in class and let the students repeat a few useful sentences/expressions after you.
Tell students the situation for the upcoming debate/discussion. Divide the class into two groups A/B (A is for and B is against). Ask them to write at least three reasons to support their argument. Before they start, write useful expressions on the board.
Ask the students to mingle (each one of group A and B come together and discuss their ideas). Make notes while monitoring.
Ask a few students to write their arguments on board. Let students vote for the most convincing arguments (for and against)
