* T will tell the Ss that she is going on a trip. * T will show a picture of Cairo with pyramids and ask them to guess in pairs. CCQs: where will i be going? * T will tell them that I haven't been to Cairo before. So i would want some more information before i travel. * T will ask the Ss in groups to make a list of things i should ask my friend before i leave? *T will ask one student from each group to write the things they have written in the list on the WB.
*T will then provide the students with the email text that she sent to her friend. * Ss will skim through the text. * T will ask the students to underline the things I asked my friend & ask the Ss if some of the things similar on the list? * T will give them HO of the reply from the friend. * T will ask show some questions on the board. * Ss will be asked to answer the questions.
*T will now focus on asking for and giving advice. *T will ask them CCQs e.g. what was i asking for and what is my friend giving. *T will ask students to turn the emails over and give them a HO with jumbled up statements. Firstly, they have to in pairs complete the sentences. *T will reshuffle the classroom and make them arrange it in the correct order of asking for advice and giving advice. *T will ask them to read the emails again to check with their partner if the order was correct. *T will ask the students what expressions were used in the exercise to give advice and write them on the board. If time then T will give another HO in which they have to complete the sentences with the help of the words given and from previous HO and the board. *ss will do this in pairs.
*T will provide them with a list of things to write in an email which they have already made, a topic, what would you like to say, what would you write in each paragraph, how will you start and finish your email. *Ss have to write a rough email to their friend who is visiting them in groups. *T will divide the WC in to groups; the first time all of them will write the emails. *T will then divide the groups ask half the students to move to the other group and write a reply.
*Ss after finishing will share the email they sent from one group & reply the other group. They will read them aloud. *While they are reading T will write some of the errors did while reading and writing. *Ss will correct them.
