Description
This lesson builds on the language presented in the previous lesson and puts it into context. It also introduces language to say prices, and functional language to ask and answer about times and prices. Make sure to allow time for the practice stages at the end to give Ss the opportunity to use the language and practice speaking.

Procedure (41-57 minutes)
Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students
Ask Ss some questions about places they go to in their free time. Is it cheap or expensive?
Presentation (8-10 minutes) • To provide context for the target language and to clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language
Elicit the word price by CCQs. Using price tags elicit the way say different prices and currencies - do ex 8a.
Elicit the questions about the prices: How much is...? How much are...? and answers : It's...They are...
Make sure to drill these and practice lots of variations
Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice
Put Ss in pairs and give them a handout with different objects and their prices. Ss ask each other about the prices of certain things and answer questions
Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check further and practice saying time and price
Project adverts in ex 7a and ask what they are for(elicit the word advert, say that it is short for "advertisement"and the word exhibition).
Get students to look at the gaps 1-5 and say what is missing. Then Ss listen and complete. Peer check.

Controlled Practice (5-8 minutes) • To focus on functional language
Set the context for ex 9. Ask Ss when they last went to the cinema, what they need to get inside (elicit the word ticket). Focus on the photo, ask where she is and what she wants to buy.
Ss do ex 9 then listen and check
Controlled Practice (4-6 minutes) • To focus on target language
For WrBk ex 4 before the lesson copy the dialogue onto strips of paper and cut hem up. Get Ss to put th cut up strips in order. WC feedback, practice pronunciation
Controlled Practice (5-8 minutes) • To focus on target language
Get Ss in pairs to practise dialogue repeatedly and move around gradually taking away lines of the cut ups until they can do it without words. Get a couple of Ss to model it in front of the class
