Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (2-3 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

T tells Ss that it's their last lesson.Use target language/ I am sad but at the same time excited. I'LL HAVE FINISHED the course by next week!! I will be relaxing, enjoying myself.. How about you? Your plan for next week, will you be coming to the school? Talk to your partner, your plans

Orientation to text (3-5 minutes) • Stimulate interest in the text

Explain to Ss, I haven't seen my friends and family for almost a month, I will be seeing them next week. I spoke to a friend of mine last night, and I recorded the conversation, I am excited, look at my plan SET A SIMPLE GIST TASK read it alone! What does Suzy want? What will I be doing? Ask: Will I be...

Language Focus (15-18 minutes) • Focus on the language from the text

T asks Ss, Can I meet her on Sunday ?No, Why not? Ss repeat the marker sentence I'll be cooking all day.. ASK CCQ's, Do you know the name of this tense? IS it a planned action ? YEs T draws the timeline, marks 3 and asks what will I be doing? You'll be cooking Is this action lasting for a while? Yes (Is this a Long action ) Is it a momentary action? No Is it like soon or really far away in the future? Soon, in this case, it's this Sunday Where will I be? At Home What do I plan to do? Cooking will I finish around here .. show around 4, we don't know I will be doing something = I will be in the middle of doing something. (FUTURE EVENTS IN PROGRESS) Elicit the form S+will+be+Ving To clarify future perfect, ask about now and CELTA What about my CELTA course? Draw a timeline, mark now and next week. I'll have finished CELTA by next week, Write by(not later than a particular time) in red. THIS IS THE MARKER SENTENCE will I finish CELTA this week? YEs (Mark next week, monday on timeline) Will I finish next week? No, is it before I finish? Yes If confusing, another clarification: She'll have completed her homework by midnight. Will she finish tonight? yes, at midnight? no, later than midnight. no? before? yes Elicit form S + will + have +past participle. If necessary compare 3 future forms

Controlled Practice (5-10 minutes) • Check comprehension of the TL

T : Now, I will be partying next week, we know that.. But Suzy.. She is a bit boring.. Let's take a look at her timetable.. (Maybe do a quick WC example here, demonstrate) Ss will be given timetable and sentences, put them in right order. HIGHLIGHT the difference between by and at (If time) Match the missing half activity, questions!!

Freer Practice (8-10 minutes) • Help Ss produce the TL

Write down what you will be doing according to time slots. Stand up ask each other, What will you be doing ? Will you be working..? Will you have finished..? If Ss don't use the TL, monitor and prompt. Feedback and error correction 2-3 mins at least!! who did you talk to, what will she be doing at 5? Will she have finished something?
