Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (5-7 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

- T shows them the crossword game. - T gives instructions to answer it in teams to find the secret word. - The secret word is weekend plans and T uses it to set the context - Give them time to find someone who has some listed activities in their weekend plans. The one who has the most info about the others will be the winner.

Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

Listening for gist: -T asks ss to listen to 3 speakers and say what celebrations do they have in their weekend. For example, speaker 1: wedding, speaker 2: national holiday and speaker 3: family party. Listening for specific: -T asks ss to relate some activities with the 3 speakers. For example, speaker one: hair dresser and drive... etc Listening for details: -T gives instructions to listen and complete the sentences to elicit the marker sentences.

Highlighting (2-4 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language

T elicits from them their answers and highlights the TL

Clarification (8-10 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

- T asks logical questions to highlight the meaning. "When is the wedding? On Saturday. Last or next Saturday?" -Then T draws the timeline to highlight the future tense on it by elicitation. -T asks some CCQs "Are these plans in my mind? Yes" -T starts to drill and highlights the sentence structure using finger highlighting. - T writes the sentence on the board and elicits the form. subj+ verb to be+ going to + verb (inf) - Apply the same on negative and questions form.

Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

-T gives instructions and let students correct the sentences by finding what is missing. - Students should answer individually while the T monitors. - Ss check their answers together then T shows the model answers

Free Practice (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

-T asks ss to create a whole plan for the Eid Al-fitr celebration. It should include the place, how, time, people, activities, money ... - Then ss share their plans together to vote for the best plan that they would like to go to. - T gives content and language feedback
