To provide opportunity for speaking for fluency and accuracy using "there is/there are" within the context of favourite places
Subsidiary Aims

To provide opportunity to the students to learn new vocabulary and to practice writing within the lesson context
Procedure (37-45 minutes)
T to show pictures of the place she lives at the moment and Ss to guess where that is Elicit from Ss to share where they live at the moment T to show pictures of interesting places to visit (Paris, London and Cappadocia) and elicit from Ss the names of the places and what things we can find in them T to share different ways to express like (I like Paris, I really like Cappadocia i.e. my favourite place) Ss to share with WC about some places in Turkey or around the world they would like to see by using the phrases I like, I really like
T to introduce ex. 10, p. 39, Student's Book T to give example with own favourite place and which words to tick or cross Use ICQs to confirm understanding T to give HO with ex. 10, p. 39, Student's Book Ss to do exercise alone and T to monitor T to ask Ss to write some sentences using "there is/there are" and the words from ex. 10 Ss to do task alone T to monitor and FB if necessary on common issues (possibly drill some of the words)
Ss to share in pairs which is their favourite place and what things are in it T to make 4 groups Ss in each group to share with each other about their favourite place. Encourage use of both there is and there isn't. T to monitor use of different words, phrases and sentence structure FB to WC - error correction on the board (elicit correction from Ss initially) Optional 1: Ss in each group to choose the best place from that group Ss to share with WC the best place and what things there are in it Optional 2: WC chooses 1 place we all go together for holiday (from the list in Optional 1) Ss in their respective groups plan a holiday - how to go there, what to take, what to see (put ideas on A3 paper)
T to revise some of the words for pronunciation Drill as a whole class and groups FB on some sentences and correct common errors
