Main Aims

To provide fluency speaking practice which will be clearly about the history of their names and the significant history of their names importance in the context of Quoted text with emphasis of the historical aspect of their chosen name.
Subsidiary Aims
-
To provide detailed reading practice using a text about history of their chosen names in the context of offer a controlled practice with emphasis on the quoted text and then offer freer practice text.
Procedure (45-60 minutes)
Teacher will write one of the quoted text on the WB and then place their name up under it. Teacher will then go into a brief detail of the meaning of the name to draw emphasis of the task to come. Teacher will allow students time for students to grasp the meaning of the quoted text on the board to have them ascertain the task to come. Teacher will place fictional names of amusing names of either things they have encountered or will encounter to show amusement and engage the students in the activity.
Teacher will take 5 words from the quoted text on page 61 that the teacher feels the students may not have come across. Teacher will place on OHP as well as give to students in a hand out to help ellicit meaning and to utilize in drilling practice.
Teacher will show students a short demo video and one of the four quoted text on OHP, seperate students into small groups, teacher will then explain the the activity, and then have students discuss in detail the text to come.
Teacher will give clarification of the task at hand, ask CCQ's and then direct the students in a controlled practice reading of the text. Students will then read the text individually and respond accordingly with their groups from the questions given on the OHP as well as handouts.
Teacher will divide students into groups of 4 and have the students respond to the questions given from the handout with each other using the vocabulary and readings given earlier.
Teacher will monitor students in their perspective groups to do freer activity on their own, as well as give FB to address any speakers errors allowing the student to error correct themselves, peer correction and finally teacher correction. Teacher will review information and thank the class in closing.
