Procedure (47-55 minutes)
Discuss: “What kind of veterinary experiences do you think are most difficult to describe in English?” Students share their thoughts in pairs.
Audio Clip 1: A vet explains their experience handling a difficult case. Comprehension Questions: “What was the patient’s issue?” “How did the vet handle the situation?”
Listening Lab Students listen and complete sentences with missing words. Example: “I have treated this type of infection ___ times before.” “We have never seen a case like this, ___.” Activity: Identify sentences using the present perfect.
Pair Work: Students summarize the case using the present perfect tense. Example: “The vet has worked with similar cases before.”
Instructor provides feedback on listening challenges and structure usage.
