Procedure

Pre-Task Warm Up (10-12 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

- Begin by asking Ss about their favorite food, restaurants and if they enjoy cooking, eating out, etc. - Set the stage for role-play & have Ss work in two groups of 4 and one pair. - Give out sheet with prompts and vocabulary for their interview with a chef.

Productive Task (30-35 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills

- Ss choose chef to be interviewed from their group and prepare their questions. - Interview commences: special emphasis on correct formulation, related vocabulary and varied answers; handout serves as reference. - Ss exchange roles and ask different questions to enrich exercise. - Best ideas and recipes are noted to discuss with rest of the class.

Conclusion & Highlighting (10-12 minutes) • To provide feedback on students' production and use of language

- Ss state their choice of best ideas and recipes, taking turns to write key words on board. - Discuss interesting points about chef's visit and conclude by asking Ss what they liked the most about their guest.
