Main Aims

  • To help students talk about when they do daily activities.

Subsidiary Aims

  • Grammar: I get dressed at 6:00 in the morning.
  • Vocabulary: get up, get dressed, have lunch/ dinner/breakfast, do homework, have a bath, go to bed

Procedure

Warm-up Video (2-4 minutes) • To get students focused and ready to learn

Play a dance video for the students to burn energy and settle in for learning.

Exposure (6-8 minutes) • To introduce and familiarize students with the target language.

Introduce and practice new words Play side to side to cement understanding of new words in the PowerPoint. Play hot seat to get students to internalize new words.

Highlight (6-7 minutes) • To focus students on the target structure.

Show a video of a boy talking about his day and the activities he did and when. After ask students to see what they remember.

Controlled Practice (6-7 minutes) • To prepare students for free practice.

Practice structure: I go to bed at 10:00 at night. Play fill in the blank. After students play dice stacker.

Semi-controlled practice (6-8 minutes) • To further prepare students for free practice.

Play last man standing hoops. Call multiple students from each team, generally from three to four students each team. All students answer the question then the teacher calls hoops and students place one foot inside only one hoop. The dice is rolled and any one in that hoop is out.

Free Practice (6-8 minutes) • To allow students to freely use the language to express themselves.

Have students write a daily journal to share with their peers. This journal will be a close passage. Where the students can rearrange the answers but still follow a single format.

Presentation (2-4 minutes) • To allow students to showcase their ability

Choose volunteers to share part of their journal.
