Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-4 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

I will ask my students to discuss two questions: 1. how often students travel and 2. do they enjoy it? I will asks students to discuss the topics in the breakout rooms.

Pre-Reading/Listening (4-5 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

I will ask the students to read the following sentences and answer the questions that follow: MEANING 1. I RACED to the hospital. (CCQ): Did I go quickly or slowly? (CCQ): Did I have an emergency? 2. 3. FORM I will elicit the form from Ss. PRONUNCIATION 1. I will model words. 2. I will ask Ss to identify the number of syllables and stress. 3. I will drill.

While-Reading/Listening #1 (6-7 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading/listening tasks

I will ask Ss to read the text quickly and create a title for it. I will give my students 3 minute.s This will be individual work. (Time reflects time needed to provide instructions, Ss complete the task, and then review the answers.)

While-Reading/Listening #2 (10-12 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference reading/listening tasks

I will ask students to read statements for 1 minute. Then they will read the text and determine if the statements are true or false. I will ask my students to justify their answers. Open ended better for more advanced classes. T/F, Mult choice for lower levels.

Post-Reading/Listening (6-8 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned

I will ask Ss to discuss these questions. 1. If you had money, where would you travel and why?
