Procedure (34-50 minutes)
T shows the presentation about natural wonders, archeological sites, romantic cities, exciting modern cities, beautiful beaches and coastline and ask students to discuss in groups. which ones are important or not
Before reading the text teachers will be given 45 seconds to look at the text and tell which place won in each category and compare their answers in their groups. Then T asks the answer to WC.
T shows Ss the visuals of the of the words on powerpoint. First T asks them to tell the words if they can not tell T tells the exact word and drills them.
Students will scan the text and match the words with the places in the text they associate with. They work in pairs. After getting the answers from the whole class T asks for another places that comes to students mind in order to check if they have understood it or not.
Students read the text again (if necessary). T gives them a HO which has questions not written in the form of questions. They have to find the information necessary in the text. T gives them 4 min. They can work in pairs. The finishers can compare their answers with the pairs next to them.
Students are asked to make a list of places to see in Turkey. They have to choose the best place for each category. {Natural Wonder; Romantic City; Ancient wonder. Modern City. Beach} They will discuss in groups and come with the best list. T creates slightly bigger groups so that re discuss their list and compare it in order to get the best list . At the end of the activity whole class needs to have one list
T gives Ss two pictures of different hotels. And in pairs they will be picking a place to spend the night. They will compare the qualities; advantages and disadvantages of the options that they have and come to a conclusion. When they decide; they will tell their decision and the reason behind it to their friends who are sitting around the same table .
