Main Aims

  • To provide fluency and confidence when talking about ourselves in a different language

Subsidiary Aims

  • Look for errors and fossilization on the speakers

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Ask about their morning, let them share something with the class and set the context of last class task of talking about ourselves.

Review (8-10 minutes) • To review the written task before moving on to the speaking portion

Time and review the notes of the students for their speaking task. Aim is to reach 2 min. Look for errors or slips and improve on to wording to simplify the speaking task.

Productive Task(s) (18-20 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills

Each student will present themselves using their notes. The aim is that all students are able to produce 2 min of controlled speaking practice based on the written task.

Feedback and Error Correction (8-10 minutes) • To provide feedback on students' production and use of language

Give positive feedback that encourage students to gain confidence on their speaking ability. Focus on errors or fossilization order to address them at a later stage.

Productive Task(s) (18-20 minutes) • To practice grammar topic "Modal Verbs"

Wordwall of "Modal verbs", ask for students to produce more than simple responses
