Gist Reading (2-4 minutes) • To get the general idea about the text

T gives the text to students and gives them 40 seconds to answer 3 questions that she had asked. Which are `What kind of a text is this? , How many dates can you see in the text? Where does it take place ? (Newspaper article, 5, New Mexico) T asks students to compare their answers with their friends and also tell why they picked those answers. (max 2 min) And then T asks WC about their answers to the questions.

While-Reading #1 (6-9 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading/listening tasks

T gives a HO to students which has the definition of the possible unknown vocabularies from the text and the number of the lines that has them . Ss has to find the actual words in the text from the definitions. When they finish the activity they can check the answers with the pair next to them. And teacher gives them an answer key in the end

((They will move clockwise) And they will discuss both the old questions they had and the new ones and come up with the best answer.By doing this they will have a chance to discuss other questions too and also know about other groups ideas. After they finish, T gets some WCFB and do some error corrections (if necessary)

Post Reading Activity (8-12 minutes) • Make students improve their productive skills by a speaking activity related to the context
