Procedure (41-46 minutes)
Show them a picture of a girl holding a remote controller and ask what she is doing. Elicit "watching TV" from the students. Ask Ss to share their ideas about watching television in pairs. Get w/c feedback
Show Ss the cut-ups and ask them to match the types of programmes with the pictures in small groups and stick them on the walls. Demonstrate the activity before they start. Ask them to check other groups' walls and compare their answers. Show them the key on the w/b through the projector. Ask CCQs to clarify the meaning. Ask some further questions to elicit some vocabulary from the listening text to make it more reachable (history, olympics, horror, thriller). Hide the slide and model&drill. Ask Ss to work in pairs and ask&answer the questions in HO1. Demonstrate the activity before they start. Get w/c feedback.
Tell Ss that they will listen to five speakers talking about some tv programmes. Ask them to match the speakers with the questions they are answering. Do the first one to demonstrate the activity.
