Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

- the teacher writes the word " myth " and explained what it means and gives an example to illustrate that point. - the teacher asks " do you know any other myths?" - the teacher listens to the answers of the students.

Pre-Reading/Listening (10-12 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

- the teacher tells students to open their books. - the teacher tells them to look at exercise 1 on page 116. - the teacher asks what do you think is happening? - the students make a group and have a discussion on this occasion.

While-Reading/Listening #1 (10-12 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading/listening tasks

- the teacher tells to children to underline the new words. - the teacher plays the listening for the first time. - the teacher plays the listening for the second time and pause whenever it needs more explanation. - the students do part 3 on page 116. then check the answers with the whole class. - the teacher make some groups and tells them to discuss about exercise 4. - the teacher plays the listening on page 117.

While-Reading/Listening #2 (14-16 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference reading/listening tasks

- the teacher moves to unit 12 and tells them to look at the pictures. - the teacher asks" what do you see in these pictures?" - the teacher plays the listening. - the teacher gives a role to each students to read again. - the teacher gives them 2 minutes to do exercise 3 on page 118. - the teacher explains the words on page 119. - the students do exercise 2. - the teacher teaches about silent words.

Post-Reading/Listening (8-10 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned

- the teacher tells students to close their books. - the teacher runs a game with the new vocabularies. Hot seat.
