Procedure (29-49 minutes)
T will bring real food and show the students. Ask them to discuss their favourite food in pairs.
T will give a handout, matching activity. Ask them to find 6 missing items with their partner. Ask ICQs. Did she buy everything? How many items did she forget? Check with their partner then check with the whole class. Drill the difficult words. trout, cauliflower,aubergine, spinach Write, haven't had recently, have had recently, could live without, couldn't live without on the WB. T Makes an example about her preferences. Then ask the students to make their own list alone? Alone or with a partner? Then ask students to come and write one word to the list. T asks them which items are on their list, which items are never on their list. Are we writing the one we buy or the one we don't?
T hands out the activity. The students will be asked to look at the conversation and discuss with their partner who speaks and what the conversations are about. Give them 3 minutes. As soon as they finish they will find the correct idiom alone. After the instructions ask ICQs(Alone or with a partner? How many correct alternatives, 1 or 2? ) Form and pronounciation will be cleared by writing and drilling.
Students will listen to the conversations to check the answers in pairs.T will give an example from their L1. T will ask early finishers come and write the correct idiom on the WB. Form and pronounciation will be cleared by writing and drilling.
Sudents will be asked to to do activity 4 alone. Then check in pairs. T will show the idioms on WB. Are we finding a new word? Early finishers again come and write the answer.
