Procedure (39-53 minutes)
T first explain the dynamic, Ss will be given names of famous person in a couple (eg. Minnie and Mickey Mouse) in a paper and they will have to walk around trying to find their match. Ss can not ask "Who are you?" or show who they are. T will write on the board and cross it. ICQ. T asks Ss to stand up then handout the papers. When finished they´ll report back what they know about the famous couple. "Who are these couples?" Ss will be by then divided into groups of 6.
T will show the pictures of the couples from the book, using the projector, and check what they know about them, who they are, ask about movies the stars are in, gather general information. "What do you know about these Famous People?" "What movies are they in?" Tell them Lyle Lovett is a singer.
In pairs, read the text below and find out how long the couples were married for and what went wrong with their relationships. Write on the board, "how long" and "what went wrong". ICQ: "do we work alone or in pairs?" [PAIRS] "do we want to know where they got married?"[NO]. They will have 3-5 min. Check the answers.
In the previous task, distribute, face down, the third exercise. When the activity n.2 is finished, T tells Ss there´s more questions. ICQ, "do we work alone or in pairs?" [PAIRS]. Give them 5 min. Check the answers.
Showing the material, explain the list of sentences, and that they are asked to fill the gaps with the missing word of these expressions. For example, "the best age to GET married is...". 1st do it yourself, them check your answers with your group. Try to do it without reading the text. ICQ "should you do exercise n.2? [NO]. Give them 10 min. Check the answers.
T asks Ss to continue to ex.2, in groups [as seated]. Read the question, "Do you agree with the sentences?" ask them to discuss it.
