Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Teacher displays pictures of different festivals (music, food, cultural). T asks students: What do you see? What happens at a festival? Do you like festivals? Why? T Introduces the topic: “Today, we are going to plan a Spring Festival!” Students look at the pictures and discuss what they see,answer teacher’s questions and share their opinions,listen as the teacher introduces the topic.

Exposure (3-5 minutes) • To provide a model of production expected in coming tasks through reading/listening

Controlled Practice: Fill in the Blanks Teacher displays a worksheet page with sentences with blanks (e.g., Our festival ___ (take place) in the city park.).T gives students time to complete the sentences individually.T goes over the answers as a class, writing correct sentences and briefly reviewing be going to. Students complete the blanks individually,participate in the class review, correcting mistakes if necessary.

Productive Task(s) (18-20 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills

️ Free Practice: Spring Festival Planning Teacher hands out the Spring Festival Planning Sheet via Chat. T encourages students to discuss and fill in their festival details (name, date, activities, location, etc.). T reminds Ss to use be going to in breakout rooms. (In case of absent students or unresponsiveness, the ones available will work individually.) T divides students into small groups (3 students per group in breakout rooms). T monitors groups, offering help and ensuring students are using be going to in their discussions. T asks each group to present their festival to the class. Ss vote for their favorite festival. T celebrates the winning group and receive feedback.
