Procedure (34-45 minutes)
T will ask one S to sit in a chair with his back to the board, facing the Ss.T then asks Ss not to say the word that he will write on the board to their friend.T clarifies that you can only give some hints/clues for that word. Finally, T writes the word '' magazine'' on the board.
T informs Ss,you will listen to people designing a magazine and find out: 1. Do they all agree about the photo? 2. Do they put all photos in the magazine? T plays the record.
T writes some functional language form the listening record like: I agree, I disagree, I think, in my opinion. and T add some other words: my advice, I feel that, etc. T encourages Ss to use this expressions
1.T tells Ss that they are in 'focus groups' to design a new community lifestyle magazine. T should make sure that Ss know 'focus group' meaning. T clarifies the life style magazine meaning for Ss. 2. T puts Ss into groups of 3 or 4 explaining that each group will have the following: -A chairperson to control the group and ask questions. -A secretary to keep notes of their ideas. 3.T gives a handout to the chairperson and secretary and allow them to ask if there is something not clear. 4.T asks chairperson to begin working on designing the magazine. 5.T checks their work and assist Ss when needed. 6.Once Ss finishes, T asks each group to select their 5 best ideas. 7.T asks secretary to explain the five ideas to the class. 8.T asks the class about what they think about their ideas.
T will check Ss pronunciation while Ss' feedback and correct them.
