Main Aims

Procedure

lead in (5-8 minutes) • To introduce the theme : Routines

Write 11:30 and say : at 8:00 I go to work. Give the students 2 minutes to think about what they usually do at these times. Ask them to work in pairs to talk about their daily routines. They will tell each other what they do in english . If they don't know the word ,they can mime it.

Pre-Reading (10-15 minutes) • pre -teach key words

1- Write "My typical morning . ask the students to mime five things they do on a typical day. Ss will mime : waking up- wolking to work - having a shower going to school. and get the others gess the verbs and say them if they know them . 2- Teacher elists words students know. 3- Ask students to match the verbs to the pictures and get them check answers in pairs. 4- Play the recording . Ss listen and repeat. 5- ask students to complete the space with a verb from exercise1. 6- Show cut cards to Ss and ask them to put the sentences of the card in the right order to make a typical Monday morning . They'll do the task and check the answers in pairs.

While-Reading (10-15 minutes) • reading for gist and reading for details

1- Teacher writes three tittles on the board and say: Read the text and say what is it about Is it.about ....... is about.........or .......................? Students will read the text and answer choose the best tittle. They will walk in the room find a partner and see if it's correct. 2- Ss will read the text again and fill in the banks with the right missing sentence . 3- In pairs they will check the answers. 4- Students will read the sentences in exercise 3. refere to the text to know if they refer to text to see if they are morning people or evening peaple

Post-Reading (5-7 minutes) • Practice the language

Ask students to stand up if they are morning people . and ask each night person join a morning person to talk abouttheir daily routines .
