To provide detailed listening practice using a text about gossiping in the context of other people's problems in their lives..
Subsidiary Aims

To provide fluency speaking practice in a conversation in the context of people gossiping about other people's problems in their lives.
Procedure (18-28 minutes)
In this stage the students will be asked to look at the photo of two women(Rosemary and Iris) and say what they think these two women are talking about.
In this stage the students will learn the meaning of the words below which are used in the audio and match each word to its meaning. gossip-break up-argument
In this stage students will listen to the audio and then answer the following question: -Who are Jack and Emma? -What has happened to them? the students need to back up their answers with reason.
In this stage the students will first read the questions that have been provided and then listen to the audio file again and choose the right answer of each question among the given options. After that we will check the answers with the whole class and students will need to support and back up their answers with reason.
In this stage the students will discuss the following question in groups of three: -Do you and your friends ever gossip? What about?
