Description
In this lesson, the SS test their knowledge of how to use present simple and present contiunous and do two controlled practices through test-teach-test method.
Materials

To provide clarification, review and practice of present simple tense and present continuous tense in the context of daily activities
Subsidiary Aims

To provide fluency and accuracy speaking practice in a conversation in the context of daily activities
Procedure (31-43 minutes)
Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students
The teacher writes some sentences in present simple tense and present continuous tense and tries to elicit the rules and function
Test #1 (5-8 minutes) • To gauge students' prior knowledge of the target language
The SS do the exercise 2 on page 12 of Next Move A2+
Teach (5-8 minutes) • To clarify areas of the target language where students had difficulty in the first test stage
The teacher explains the rules as to how to use the present simple and present continuous.
Test #2 (8-10 minutes) • Check students' use of the target language again and compare with the first test
The SS do a controlled practice by doing the exercise 4 on page 12.
Free practice (10-12 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language
The SS work in pairs and do a free practice by doing the speaking exercise on page 12
