Description

in this lesson the students are going to listen a story about someone weekend.

Materials

Main Aims

  • To provide detailed listening practice using a text about weekend and how we can spend it.

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide fluency speaking practice in a speaking practice in a conversation in the contect of things we can do on a weekend.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

The students will be asked if they ever experience an unusual weekend? Was it a bad or a good memory for them?

Pre-Reading/Listening (8-11 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

The students will be informed about the meaning of the following vocabularies used in the text by trying to match the meaning of the words with the vocabularies individually. emergency_elevator_office_pressed_button

While-Reading/Listening #1 (10-12 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading/listening tasks

The students will listen to track and try answer the following questions: what does steve do? what floor was his office on? what happened when he first pressed the elevator button? how did he try to get help? where did steve's wife think he was? how did steve get out of the elevator on Monday morning? how did he feel?

While-Reading/Listening #2 (12-14 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference reading/listening tasks

Students will be asked to read the questions on page 32,part a and then audio file will be played again.the students need to completed the gaps with proper word.they will have 2 minutes to check their answers.

Post-Reading/Listening (7-10 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned

Students will be asked to talk to each other in groups of 3 about have you or anyone else has ever experienced a similar happen?
