Procedure (42-44 minutes)
Show ss the picture of the couple and prompt them to talk about it.
Students will read the dialogue, work individually and check their answers in pais
Play the audio and have ss check their answers while listening. Interrupt recording before the final answer to find out whether any of the students have guessed correctly.
Display the individual papers with one 'scenario' each on the whiteboard. Ask students to find examples in the dialogue that match these scenarios. Drill the examples. I add the corresponding sentences from the dialogue to the whiteboard and illustrate the differences in meaning with timelines. Finally, I elicit the FORM of past simple and present perfect simple: verb+ed (regular) / bought (irregular) subject + have / haven't + past participle subject + has / hasn't + past participle Feedback; check for meaning; CCQ
