Procedure (32-43 minutes)
In this stage I will say some simple sentences in reported speech and direct form that my students get familiar with it and start to compare them.
In this stage I will ask students to tell me, a sentence from a famous person.
In this stage I will write some of their, sentences on the board to draw their attention to TL.
I will clarify the meaning by drawing a table on the board with direct and reported headlines. I will ask some CCQs about the previous sentences I have wrote on the board (which of them do you think is a reported speech?) (When use reported speech? to tell somebody what another person said.) (The reported speech is not direct so it's? indirect). After that I will teach the structure to them to know how to form the sentence. i will read some sentences from book for them. the tenses that will be changed are mentioned in this stage (present perfect_ past perfect). some of the complicated past form of verbs will be drilled. the importance of the words, (say, tell) and their difference will be mentioned in this stage.
the students are going to do exercise 12B on page 149 in the grammar bank in 5 minutes. they will have 2 minutes to check their answers in a pairs and then we will check the answers with the whole class.
I will ask them one by one to tell me a reported sentence from one of their family members.
