I will ask three of my students to tell me about the things they did last weekend.
I will write some of my students' sentences on the board in the correct past simple form.
I will draw a timeline on the board and ask my students to say if the sentences are about the past, present or future? (past) Are the actions completed? (Yes) Can I mention the exact time that they happened in the past? (Yes) The structure of the sentences will be elicited by asking questions like: What is the roll of I in the sentence? (sub) What is the next word after the subject? (verb) Is the verb in the simple form or we need to add ed? (add ed). What is the past form of go? (went) Is go a regular verb or irregular? (irregular) The pronunciation of the verbs like said, read, thought will be drilled in the class. The ending sound of the words when ed is added is mentioned as well. (asked - wanted - finished)
Students are going to exercise a on page 120 in 4 minutes individually. They will have 3 minutes to check their answers in pairs and then the answers will be checked with the whole class.
I will ask my students to tell each other about the things they did yesterday. each student needs to give their partner at least 5 sentences. They will then tell the class who had a better day.
The students are going to be divided into groups of 4. They will have 10 minutes to talk about their best holiday ever. They will be monitored and feedback will be given at the end.
