Procedure (45-45 minutes)
Discuss past weekend events in Durban. Relate my shopping trip to the Pavilion Shopping Centre with its variety of clothing shops - list with visual cues - students to match clothing nouns to the relevant store.
Introduce my friend Erica who had received an invitation to a formal dinner and didn't know what to wear. Listen to 2.59 for her shopping experience. What colour dress did she buy?
After listening 2.59 for a second time, students to complete Unit 11, Pg 76, Q3 individually. ASK ICQs BEFORE HANDING OUT SHEET. Time limit set at 3 minutes. WC feedback. Play track 2.60 to check answers. Then students draw a phrase out the basket and read aloud to check pronunciation.
Set each pair a hypothetical situation between a customer and sales assistant for them to practice their fluency of the useful shopping phrases. Set a time limit for preparation of dialogue to enable feedback x 5
